Faust international Youth Theatre proudly presents A Midsummer Night's Dream – The Musical!
About the Show
This classic Shakesperean tale is full of magic, mischief and mistaken identity. The play features four groups of characters; the fairies led by Titania and Oberon; the four young lovers, Hermia, Helena, Lysander and Demitrius; the court party of Theseus and Hippolyta; and a misfit band of Mechanicals. Puck is instructed by his master Oberon to use magic to trick the Fairy Queen, Titania, but Puck goes too far as he uses magic on the four lovers who have run away into the woods, causing a love triangle and great confusion. Meanwhile, a group of would-be actors prepare a performance for a royal wedding, with hilarious results.
In this modern, musical adaptation, the characters sing and dance their way through the story, featuring songs that the audience will know and love. Our fairies set the scene and guide us along the way, as our ensemble delight us with their musical numbers!
This production features Faust International Youth Theatre members aged 8 to 18.
