Yes, in fact many of our students do. Each week, children learn about a different aspect of creative writing
whilst consolidating what they have already learnt.
What’s the policy in terms of weather?
All classes will be cancelled in the event of a Typhoon Signal 8 or higher, or Black Rain Signal if hoisted at
7am for morning workshops and1.00pm for afternoon workshops. There are no make-up classes.
Will there be any formal feedback or reports from the Creative Writing Programme?
The course is designed to engage students in the world of writing and to develop skills in a fun yet disciplined
way. Before joining the course parents will be emailed with an outline sharing what their child will be doing.
Parents are free to ask teachers at the end of the lesson about how their child is doing. The course is not an
academically assessed and all students will get an end of week certificate.
What will be taught at Creative Writing?
Each class will have different focus each week. For example, one week may focus on descriptive language,
another on dialogue. Some principles of good writing will be repeated week after week but the theme will
change week to week. Our aim with this course is for the children to enjoy the writing process. We hope to
inspire our students and to get them to express themselves creatively through writing, learning skills not always
explored in detail at school and enjoy creating worlds through words. At the start of the week children will be
given an overview showing them (and their parents) what they will be doing during the week. A sample outline
is also available from us to give you an idea of what children could do.
Will my child get homework to do after Creative Writing?
Students may get writing assignments to complete for the next day. Time constraint will be factored in so the
exercises will not require too much time to complete.
Can I talk to the teacher directly about the progress of my child?
Yes you may after the class has finished. You may also email us at the office if you have any questions and
concerns about your child in the course.
Where do the classes take place?
Creative writing will take place in the Faust Office in Sheung Wan.
