One group, one day and one performance....are you ready for the challenge?

Throughout the year we offer ‘Play in a Day’. This is an exciting new concept where children have to work as part of a team and create something exciting, innovative and fun: our very own performance! Our young actors literally have one day to make a performance!

We start at 10am and after some initial warm-up activities we brainstorm ideas and begin to develop these to create our performance plans. We establish who will do what, who’s in charge of each component part, how the script will work and who will play which role!

Members of Play in a Day will work on characterization, line-learning, rehearsing, blocking, prop-development and performing. We have to think quickly, problem-solve and promote a team spirit to inspire us all to achieve our best.

And then, just 7 hours later, at 5pm, we perform our play – in front of an audience!! Each participant can invite two guests to come and see what they’ve been up to and witness the results of our Play in a Day!

Participants need to have at least some theatrical experience and everyone must be prepared to make the effort required, throw themselves in and be prepared to try new things!
