Our Workshops

Activities will be carefully guided by the group leaders and participants are encouraged to develop their English through discussion and teamwork. The week starts with ice-breaking activities helping children to become comfortable in their new environment, allowing them to get to know their group and encouraging group involvement.

The workshops will then focus on development of both English and Drama skills. Through games and activities children will be introduced to the relevant vocabulary and language needed to complete the activity and also the performance skills such as improvisation, devising, clarity of expression and script work (depending on the age and needs of the group).

All activities are engaging, challenging and focused on providing a sense of achievement and increased confidence and, of course, all workshops are designed to be fun and enjoyable for all!

What is drama?
Often when we think of drama we think of theatre, of a spectacular production with costumes, make-up, props and stage. Drama however, is different. It is not about a final out-come ‘show’ but is more focused on the process, ensuring that the children are developing in confidence, creativity and expression. This is achieved through a range of games and activities which help children to express ideas, emotions, feelings and thoughts whilst developing active listening and also having lots of fun!
