The Faust Festival is an annual celebration of the talent and learning of our members. The first Faust Festival was in 2001 and every subsequent year it has got bigger and better!

At the Faust Festival each group showcases their talent and learning by putting on their own production. Faust is dedicated to creating high quality theatrical workshops and inspirational family entertainment. The festival has become a much anticipated show case for new talent, a chance for the children of Hong Kong to tread the boards and display their performing abilities and a celebration of the excitement of theatre for adults and children alike.

Classics Remixed
This Faust Festival we present a series of pieces that will create a unique perspective on familiar characters and scenarios.

The classic story of Beauty and the Beast is brought alive to the stage as La Belle et La Bete. The directors and young performers will being a fresh approach to this fantastical story using exciting and fun staging techniques to make the impossible seem real.

We also stage for the first time Shakespeare's popular play A Midsummer Night's Dream. This will be a more knockabout, colourful and accessible adaptation of the well known story that is sure to entertain the whole family.

For our older family audiences we will be presenting Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus. This supernatural tale of a man who wishes for immortality will be brought vividly to the stage by our older students in Group T.

There are many more classic children's tales being staged this year including Gulliver's Travels, Pygmalion, The Jungle Book, Bugsy Malone and The Tales of The Arabian Nights.

Innovative New Tales
Along with the stage adaptations of classic stories we have several exciting new tales! Including Storybook Fame where we find out what happens when classic storybook characters are put into a popularity contest, Life Under The Big Top where we discover the world of the circus behind the scenes and many, many more!

Andrea Darvill - Storyteller Extraordinaire
Faust is happy to announce the return of international storyteller Andrea Darvill. She brings traditional stories, folktales and fairytales to life on the stage entertaining old and young alike and taking all on a magical journey. Using her natural talent and energy, assisted by a selection of props and costumes, Andrea entices audiences, both large and small to enter a world where anything is possible.
