21st - 24th January 2010
The Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
Faust International Youth Theatre proudly presents a dramatic interpretation of the classic Alice in Wonderland. Young Alice finds herself in a fantasy world called Wonderland, populated by strange and peculiar characters. Alice ventures through this topsy-turvy world full of contradictions, bafflement and surprise and discovers how wonderfully curious life can be.
Using an original script and score and an all-children cast, Faust's version of Alice in Wonderland is a show full of surprises, twists and turns. The design of the production, from costume to set, emphasises how everything in Wonderland can change at any moment, how it can fold and transform into something new.
Faust's production is a faithful adaptation that emphasises human emotions and the absurdities of adulthood behind the comical and satirical situations. Lewis Carroll’s deeply rich and brilliantly mad story is one that every child or parent can enjoy on different levels. Behind the fantasy and comedic surface, Alice in Wonderland is about a girl finding her way through life and learning what it means to grow up in a world that is not always as it seems.
