Dear
Parents,
Welcome to our June newsletter! The Festival
is in full swing and many groups have already
staged very successful performances. There
are only a couple more days to go with plenty of
young thespians treading the boards. If you
have time, try to see some of the other shows on
offer or see our Theatre in Education performances
of Peter & the Wolf & Oliver
Twist on June 19 th &
20 th. Registrations for the new season
starting in September are now underway and all
places for current members are guaranteed until
today! This summer looks like it's going to be
incredibly busy with people signing up at a faster
rate than ever since the Summer Theatre and
Creative Writing programmes began eleven years
ago. You can find out more about this and all the
many Faust activities in this newsletter and by
visiting www.FaustWorld.com.
Have a great end of term and we wish all students,
parents and staff a very happy summer holiday.
Best
Wishes

Summer Programmes
2010
Here we are at the
close of another fantastic season at
Faust. How time flies when we
are having fun! And just what are we going to do
with all that free time in the summer?
Here
at Faust we are preparing for our
biggest Summer Programme ever! With many of
the courses already filling rapidly we may have
our most successful Summer Programme on record.
This of course means fantastic fun and lots of
colourful creations all through summer from 28th
June to 20th August!
To find out more
about our summer
courses, visit the Faust
website to
see example workshop outlines based on your
child's age.
During Faust's Summer Theatre
programme,
students get to prepare an open session for an
audience of friends and family in just one
week! Meanwhile
in the Creative Writing
programme,
students explore the magic of words and produce a
folder of original
work.
Don't miss out on the
opportunity to explore theatre and write
creatively this summer. Sign up early to avoid
disappointment!

The Faust
Festival 2010
 After weeks of
rehearsal the Festival got off to a strong start
with a wonderful range of shows. Shows already
finished include The Jungle Book, A Wind for
Troy, The Bremen Town Musicians and Epic
Fail among many others. The cast and crew of
these shows did a wonderful job transporting
audiences to new worlds and telling both dramatic
and comedic stories. Bravo to all of these groups
for setting the bar high for the rest of the
groups during the rest of the
festival.
It is also great to see so many
excited faces and the talent both backstage and
onstage. From our older students we've seen some
really creative and original pieces of theatre.
Most of our much younger members have also made
brave first attempts with success. All of them
have worked so hard and it is great to see them
recognised for their work onstage with rapturous
applause!
We still have one more week of the
Faust Festival to go. Do come check out
some of our other Faust Festival shows and share
with friends and family the exciting stories told
by our many Faust members.
Tickets available at all Urbtix
outlets.

Splat!
Faust's Theatre in Education programme added
a fourth title to its growing repetoire in
May 2010. Splat! is a
poetry-based show performed by three
actors. The performance introduces audiences to a
variety of poetic styles and genres, bringing
words to life in clever and often comical
ways. As part of The Faust Festival
2010, Splat! has toured schools for
audiences aged 7 through 14, alongside
poetry-based TIE workshops designed to engage
students and help them absorb what they see and
read. For more information &

Drama Game of the
Month
World's
Greatest SandwichPlayers sit in a circle.
One person begins by saying his/her name and then
states what ingredient goes in the
sandwich.Example: "My name is
Charlotte, and the World's Greatest Sandwich has
pickles." The next person in the circle announces
their name and says Charlotte's ingredient as well
as her own. "Hi, my name is Sarah, and the World's
Greatest Sandwich has pickles and popcorn." This
activity helps the students build memorisation
skills. And at the end, the kids mime taking a big
bite!Back to
