As Faust enters its tenth year we would like to celebrate the occasion by agreeing on 10 projects, organisations or events to support the community and charities of Hong Kong with a particular focus on the young of Hong Kong and China. Click here for more information.

The Faust Festival 2008's Charity of Choice - Variety

Variety the Children's Charity is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of children around the world. In Hong Kong they provide services to improve the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children through the provision of goods or grants. We were so happy to be able to support Variety by giving tickets to beneficial groups in Hong Kong allowing, for the first time, many under privileged children to attend the theatre.

Faust 's Festive Fundraiser,

Faust hosted 3 hours of festive theatrical frolics in aid of Feed The Children Hong Kong. Young and old alike played festive theatre games and reenacted their own versions of some Christmas favorites. All the proceeds from this yuletide celebration contributed to Feed the Children Jacket Programme.

Feed the Children is a US-based international charity and the Hong Kong office aims to support disadvantaged children in Mainland China. This winter they are raising funds to supply warm jackets to children in need through the cold months. For more information please consult their website www.FeedTheChildren.org.

In keeping with the Pirate theme of this year's fair, Faust volunteered to host two workshops for children on how to be a real pirate (well a pirate on stage anyhow!). After donning their costumes (well making their paper swords) children were taught how to stage-fight (without injuring themselves or others). After much practising and learning our young pirates shared their skills with the group.

Longman Pre-School English Drama Competition (Greater China) 2008 - Drama in Action! A Teacher Training Workshop,

As a supporting partner of this year's Drama Competition, Faust was happy to present at this workshop. Drama is about unlocking the imagination and setting it free on a rewarding journey and the session introduced participants to the practical advantages of teaching drama and helped remove some of the mystery and myth surrounding it. The session was interactive and looked at some of the games and activities that are used to help teach drama.
